Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 September 2026
This website is run by Benard Masila, trading as BM EV Solutions ("we", "us", "our"). It publishes articles about electric vehicles, battery technology, renewable energy and clean mobility. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Newsletter sign-up. If you use the subscribe form, we collect the email address you enter. We do not ask for anything else.
- Messages. If you email us, we keep your email address and the content of your message so we can reply.
- Technical data. When you visit, your browser sends routine information (such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time) to our hosting provider and to the services that deliver parts of the site (see section 4). We do not run our own analytics or advertising trackers. If we add them later, we will update this policy first.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through this site.
2. How we use your information
- To email you when a new post or update is published, if you subscribed.
- To reply to your messages.
- To keep the site working, secure and free from abuse.
- To meet our legal obligations.
3. Consent and legal basis
We send newsletter emails only to people who have subscribed, and we rely on your consent to do so. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. For other uses we rely on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site, or on legal obligation, as applicable law allows.
4. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We use the following service providers, who process information on our behalf or to deliver the site:
- EmailOctopus stores our subscriber list and sends our emails. It receives your email address when you subscribe.
- Sanity is the content system that stores our articles. Your browser requests posts from Sanity when you open the site, so Sanity can see your IP address.
- Google Fonts supplies the fonts used on the site. Your browser requests them from Google, so Google can see your IP address.
- Our hosting provider serves the website and keeps standard server logs.
Each provider handles information under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
5. Cookies
We do not set cookies of our own to track you. The third-party services in section 4 may use cookies or similar technologies as part of delivering their content. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
6. International transfers
Our service providers may process information on servers outside your country. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information stays protected, in line with applicable data protection law.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only what is needed to honour your opt-out, so that you are not emailed again by mistake. We keep messages you send us for as long as needed to deal with them, and then delete them.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to be informed about how we use your information; to access it; to correct it; to have it deleted; to object to or restrict how we use it; to receive a copy of it; and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, email us at YOUR-EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.COM. We will respond within the time required by law.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to your data protection authority. In Kenya, this is the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information, including using trusted providers and encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
This site is not aimed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we will delete the information.
11. Links to other sites
Our articles and footer may link to other websites, such as LinkedIn. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
